Introducing the exquisite Dolores dress - an elegant, 1940s-inspired swing design that flatters all figures. Ideal for day or evening, it showcases smock detailing on the shoulders, handy side pockets, and adjustable ties at the back for a customised fit.

For products made in our Rayon Crepe fabric we suggest you care for the garment in the same way you would for an original 40’s garment.

We recommend you hand wash the garment just as they did back in the 1940’s, although nowadays you can dry clean them instead if you wish!

Best not to dry them in direct sunlight or in an excessively hot place, as this can cause the natural yarn to twist and subsequently shrink.

If you find you have washed or dried the garment too hot by accident, you can try the following method to regain the original size and fit. Although this isn’t guaranteed to work, it may help!

1. Please soak the garment in cold water with a very generous helping of fabric conditioner and leave overnight.

2. Then, rinse the garment in fresh cold water and as you gently squeeze out the excess water, stretch the garment in both width and length as far as you can.

3. Lay the garment flat on a towel to start drying slowly; but iron while it is still damp, again stretching in both directions.

For a size 10, this dress is weirdly, weirdly TINY in the bust area. I even checked that I'd ordered the right size four separate times in the five minutes I spent trying to get this dress on. I live in the Southern Hemisphere, so sending it back for a larger size is a VERY costly and time-consuming exercise, so I might just donate this dress and consider it a lost cause. I don't know why it's so bizarrely small. I've got three other SoB dresses, one of which is also a size 10, and it's not the same kind of restriction.

The dress SHAPE is lovely, though the material is a little scratchy. All in all, this wasn't what I'd hoped, but I'm sure on someone who is a SMALL 10 rather than an occasional 10, this will be lovely.
